151 GOVERNMENT ENTITIES WARNED TO QUIT DISCRIMINATING AGAINST CHRISTIANS
GOVERNMENT FACILITIES CAN NOT SHOW PREFERENCE FOR ONE GROUP OVER ANOTHER
The Alliance Defense Fund has warned 151 governmental entities by letter to stop implementing unconstitutional policies which discriminate against Christians. It is unconstitutional to refuse public facilities such as libraries, parks and community centers to Christian individuals, groups or churches which are otherwise open to other groups.
Govt. facilities can not deny access to public property simply because the state disagrees with the point of view of groups or individuals.
“Whether it’s the denial of religious services and seminars, Vacation Bible Schools, church potlucks, Bible studies, or a Christian author discussing an upcoming book, countless groups and individuals are having their constitutional rights violated while those with non-religious affiliations enjoy unrestricted access for their activities,” ADF Senior Legal Counsel Joel Oster said.
Recently the ADF won a case in California. A California library was issued a court order to stop banning Christian activities at a public library meeting room. ” In the, Faith Center Church Evangelistic Ministries v. Glover, the court ruled that Contra Costa County officials cannot ban meetings it labels “religious services.” source, ADF
